Class 1 and Class 4 enjoyed a lovely Outdoor Explorers session today - we did a Spring scavenger hunt and made giant birds nests! There was some fantastic learning going on and the way Class 4 helped and nurtured the Class 1 children really warmed the staff's hearts. We were super proud of them!
Some photos from our class assembly 'You can't forget about the Vikings!'
We had a 'sweet' time at the Fairtrade Conference today. The children met Ernest and Sarah, cocoa farmers from Ghana, who grow pods for Divine chocolate. We learnt about the Ghanaian Adinkra symbols that are used on the packaging and designed our own bookmarks using the symbols that represented who we are. As there was a focus on climate change and what we can do to combat it, each school that attended was given a bird cherry tree which we will be planting in our spiritual garden.
We spent the afternoon building a Viking longship from wooden sticks and elastic bands! We then rowed across the North Sea from Scandinavia to 'go Viking' making sure we avoided the icebergs.
What a lovely way to end the week - coffee, cake and chat in the Kindness Cafe. Well done Class 4 for being the perfect hosts.
We spent some time today thinking about words and phrases linked to kindness and turned them into word clouds.
Class 4 spent the afternoon preparing the treats for our Kindness Cafe this Friday.
