Friends of Landscove School (FOLS)

NEW PROJECT!!!

Help us to make Landscove a greener, solar powered primary school
FOLS (the Friends of Landscove School, our PTA charity) is pleased to announce the launch of a Crowdfunding website aimed at raising the costs of installing solar photovoltaic panels on the extensive school roof. This would benefit our school through reduced electricity costs, income from electricity sale to the grid (to reinvest in education & wellbeing for pupils), protection from future electricity price rises, and importantly a significant reduction in our carbon footprint. If we can raise the installation costs then all of these benefits would be realised immediately and for years to come, benefiting all pupils present and future.

The project will also help Landscove achieve the coveted Eco-Schools Green Flag Award (we have already achieved Bronze and Silver Awards and the pupil-led Eco-Committee wants to go for Green this year!), and promote the education of environmental issues and solutions to the next generation.

Please consider supporting this project by visiting https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/landscove-school-solar-susta and pledging a donation. If you are a UK taxpayer please also consider allowing FOLS to claim GiftAid on your donation.

Thank you for your support!
WHO WE ARE

Friends of Landscove School (FOLS) is a registered charity whose aim is to raise funds to enhance the education of the children in the school by providing “extras”. In recent years they have funded many items including the building of an outdoor classroom on the playing field, forest school equipment, ice creams for the school beach trip and Year 6 leavers gifts.

This year’s committee is Justina Summerfield (Chair), Vicky Foskett (Vice Chair), Erica Allitt (secretary) and Jenny Stone (Treasurer). Justina can be contacted by e-mail at fols@outlook.com. However every parent and staff member is a member of FOLS and welcome to attend the meetings.

FOLS tries to balance its role by putting on events which are both fun for children, parents and staff and also raise funds to assist the school.

Regular events put on by FOLS include film nights for the children, children’s parties, mufti days, children and adult fashion shows, an annual Summer Fair and Christmas Fair including Santa’s grotto. During the summer term FOLS sell ice creams for the children to enjoy a Friday afternoon treat on the school field.

Anyone can take part including parents, staff, grandparents and neighbours.
